Title: feature request: be able to unsend IRC messages
Post by: nicefish on February 04, 2017, 10:02:40 am
in our irc careers we've all sent something we didn't mean to. accidental copypasta, for example.
i'd like to be able to unsend irc messages.

no you're not allowed to rewrite history

I think we should make a blockchain for irc

I am glad you consider IRC a career, not many people realize that there is a command to withdraw all the money you made while chatting away. Or at least there used to be .bank but now it doesn't work anymore.

I agree with rachel I think messages sent shouldn't be erased but you can submit a pull request on GitHub and see if there is any interest.

okay, I think I'll implement a CTCP RETRACT command where sending CTCP RETRACT N to a channel would make peoples' clients erase the last N messages from the sender. I'll get on it right away.
