Also in other news the gubberment tries to push more rules and regulations on drones due to interest and lobbying by large shipping companies especially Amazon. It is getting increasingly hard to fly a drone even though such regulations and laws are never upheld (do you think the police will go around with a drone scanner?)
im not watching an entire 34 minute video "about drones" just because you posted it
please link to specific parts of the vid or at least summarize it to summon interest
sorry about that,
basically you are now required to present a remote id that is being broadcast at all times, your transmitter must also be connected to the internet at all times. while this is fine for a commercial drone use as a DJI phantom, it is not for the case of a hobbyist made drone as the one depicted on this topic. Because regulation had a very vague statement about Hobby made drones and how it can broadcast the ID or not. to comply with the FAA's new remote id rule you have threeoptions, one is being connected to the internet via data to transmit the remote id. the second option is drones operate in a limited id mode where you are limited to 400 ft from you and the drone in any direction which is very very limited in terms of drone racing and free style. the last option is only going to FAA recongized identification areas or AMA fields which is a problem because there are not enough AMA fields or very little (also most tend to shun drone pilots because it gets in the way of their plane flying) which already limits the amount of space and fly areas the drone pilots have to go through.
so basically these remote id's aren't to benefit the hobbyist and it is more to benefit the commercial drone services such as DJI, amazon and other large shipping companies who may use drones in the future.

again I apologize for not able to put a summary of what is going on.
