Title: So how about that Nitrous shortage?

There was a giant explosion at a gas factory and 90% of all the N2O in the United States was lost in the blast.

Apparently all of the remaining N2O is being reserved for medical use only until their factory gets fixed.

Not the most relevant, but when I hear nitrous this is the first thing I tend to think of.

Also, in Len Deighton's historical fiction novel bomber, there is a scene where a Junkers ju-88 night fighter uses nitrous injection oxide to successfully intercept a British pathfinder mosquito.
