Hey y'all it's that time again! What are you quitting?

I'm doing none of this:

- Weed
- Alcohol
- Nicotine
- Caffeine
- LSD
- Mushrooms

How about you?

If it were sober cocktober you could replace all your vices with something else.

Quitting caffeine sounds miserable.

It's definitely not for everyone, I recommend people only quit what they are comfortable quitting. For me, that's part of the challenge. It's like I'm pregnant. One time I ate a tiramisu and was like "omg this cake was made with coffee HOW MUCH CAFFEINE IS IN THIS!?" and the only results online were from concerned expecting mothers on pregnancy forums. Turns out it's only a couple mg, similar to chocolate.

Last night I had a dream about smoking weed. It felt good at first but then I felt bad for being addicted to drugs lol

In the parlance of people who don't do drugs anymore, this is called a "using dream".  Being of the drug free persuasion, I've had more than a few, mostly around alcohol.  But over the course of my sobriety, they are few and far between, with one exception.  About 7 years ago, I went dessert/sweet free.  Like never before did I have using dreams of chocolate chip cookies, brownies, ice cream, pie, etc.  More than 2 a night sometimes.  It didn't help that I was on Prozac which makes you thirst for sugar like a thot thirsts for cock at a gay bar.  Anyway, I went 3 and a half months (out of the 6 I'd planned) without desserts.  But I no longer dream of sugary delights and I assure you, your weed soaked visions will abate when you once again get high af.

Sure is. I'm doing hard mode. No alcohol, thc, nicotine, caffeine, nothing unless it's prescribed by a doctor.

Most people just avoid alcohol and weed during sober october but you can do it whatever way you want

If you're counting down the days until you can drink alcohol again it might be a sign that you're addicted and should probably consider quitting for longer than just a month. Maybe you should monitor your intake after sober October is over and try reducing your consumption

If I don't drink or die, I'll have 18 years of sobriety on the 13th.  Not just Octobers.  One of the strangest phenomena of sobriety is the "using dream".  I don't have them as much as I used to, but on occasion, I'd have a dream where I'd get drunk or high.  This is almost inevitably followed by extreme anxiety about having ruined my life.  I also sometimes have dreams where I turn down drugs or alcohol, but these are fewer and far between.  An even weirder phenomena has happened when I've seriously undertaken the project of giving up sweets.  I start to have using dreams about chocolate, cookies, etc.

Anyway, I don't do drugs so that there is more of them for you.
