Do you guys know anything about room air purifiers? So far I've seen two styles:
Dyson (or other Designer brand) that start at $600, usually white and chrome, meant to be beautiful free standing works of art. Filters for these can be several hundred dollars. And might become unavailable after a while (because startup folding or product lines ending)
Honeywell (or other Industrial brand) usually cost + materials (start at $80), black, squat, ugly. Filters are usually cheaper and just simple squares that drop into a slot. Probably available forever.
Both of these have some kind of HEPA filter. Some may have UV-C light kill tech. The dysons are pretty quiet - the honey well tends to be LOUD on its max setting (where it's actually gonna out put for its room size rating).
I realized what I want is a long square box, about 12" square and six to eight feet long. Suck air in one end, push it out the other (free standing on the floor it would be bottom to top). Inside it should have guts.
I would prefer something with ultraviolet radiation killing bugs (and breaking apart large particles).
If something like this exists off the shelf, I'll buy it. If not - have any of you ever built an air filter?
Thanks
