get rid of open source its awful

if it were any good, every company would me making OSS

Every company IS making open source software.

https://getbootstrap.com/ - Bootstrap - The most popular front-end development framework was made by developers at Twitter.
https://code.visualstudio.com/ - Visual Studio Code - Visual Studio has been Microsoft's flagship IDE since the 90s. Now they have "Visual Studio Code" an open source code editor that comes with Visual Studio.
https://reactjs.org/ - React - A popular UI framework for creating webapps and native phone applications, developed by Facebook.
https://opensource.google.com/ - Google Summer of Code - Every year Google gives millions of dollars in grants to students for contributing to open source projects.
http://netflix.github.io/ - Netflix OSS - Many of the internal tools developed by Netflix employees are available on their official GitHub page.

Basically everybody in tech is already on board, we're just waiting for the rest of the old industrial era companies to catch up.

wow so every company IS making OSS!

also i went and played unreal tournament and its really weird to see a modern AA title be like "hey we want feedback from the community, this is a work in progress!" and it's not some offshoot half buggy FPS that nobody plays. on the other hand, Epic's interface for making & adding friends leaves something to be desired. they could take a page from valve's book.

thank u h & rachel for informing this humble fuck truck

depends on what you're using it for

as a replacement for sublime for editing your HTML templates and customizing your bootstrap CSS it's perfect

not everybody needs a SUPER COMPILER C# ULTIMATE PROFESSIONAL IDE

I meant more as a VS replacement. People usually use VS for .NET development. VS Code is really just a different IDE that's taken a different direction is my point.
