the thing on the end is a "muzzle brake", it vents hot gasses at 90' to the barrel. This helps with recoil. unfortunately it split open the hand guard, which is the explodey looking bit.

on top is a bolt action rifle thats been shortened hilariously into a pistol
on bottom is yes, an olympic ski-and-shoot rig. they're usually .22 long rifle i think.
