Point and click adventure games.
« on: December 17, 2016, 09:00:00 pm »
I was going to put this in the shitpost section, but I was afraid nobody would take the question seriously.

Does anybody here other than me love point and click adventure games?

It's probably my favorite genre. King's Quest was the first video game I ever played and since then, it's been my obsession to play every single one I could get my hands on, even the crappy ones.

The last express is probably still my favorite of all time.

Anybody else play them?

Try out adventure game studio. It's not just a fast way to make adventure games, but it's easy. For a coding baby like me it's awesome.

Try it out, it's a lot of fun just to make mini little shitpost games with it.

Try out the last express.

I suggest the steam version over the GOG version, only because it has a few things that make the game a bit more accessible.

please, don't talk about monkey island around me.

I'll never be able to shut up about how much I love it and how amazing the entire series is and how alive the world is and how interesting and funny the lore is and OH GOD I FUCKING LOVE MONKEY SO MUCH YES.

OH MY GOD MONKEY ISLAND.

at least you didn't bring up sam and max. That would be the absolute worst thing anyone can do. I'd just go on a full autism fueled sermon on how much I love it.

That's coming out, now?

I thought the money was siphoned away from that to pay for the King's Quest Remake.

God, I was so fucking terrible when that happened. So many people were mad at me :3

The Longest Journey is the best game I have ever played. Period. As far as I know, it is PC Gamer's highest rated game of all time at 99% and I highly recommend it. Is on GOG. Use a guide for the rubber duck / band-aid / pliers / rope / subway / key puzzle. The sequels, Dreamfall, and Dreamfall: Chapters, are very good too.

Hiveswap looks fun. I'll be checking it out once it it out. Last Express I'll be looking into as well.

I've been hearing things about the Longest Journey for years, but I've never actually tried it, myself. I really need to get into it at some point.

If you're looking into the last express, the version on GOG is the one I played as a kid. It's a lot harder than the gold edition on steam, since there are no hints or character guides. Without those, you have to figure out everything about the game yourself.

Sanitarium is my favorite point and click game. It crashes a lot and the gameplay kind of goes downhill towards the end but the story is really good. And SPOOKY
