something you see depicted here, and in mad max, is that Art Matters, people ornament themselves and its beautiful. in irl you see tribalists fighting and they ornament themselves with magical fetish items: two classics are a life vest (they're not stupid, they know it's not bulletproof, but it's literally a Life Vest) and a chain of machine gun bullets (often for a gun their squad doesn't even have)
